KASOS > OVERVIEW

Kasos Greek Islands Dodecanese Greece

Kassos is the southernmost island of the Dodecanese and is located between Crete and Karpathos. To its north it is lapped by the Aegean Sea and to the south by the Libyan Sea. The island has strong naval traditions. There are about 1, 000 permanent residents on the island.

The capital of Kassos is Fri which is also its only harbour. It is located in the north of the island and maintains its traditional architectural style in the well- maintained two storey mansions. Agia Marina and Arvanitohori are the two main settlements on Kassos.

The Kassos coastline has a great variety of beaches to suit all requirements, organised or isolated, large and small - some rocky, others sandy or pebbled.

Most visitors stay in Fry that is the most developed tourist region on the island. There are hotels and rooms of all categories.
