FOLEGANDROS > OVERVIEW
Folegandros is located between the islands of Milos and Sikinou and has about 600 residents. It is a mountainous island its highest peak being Agios Eleftherio, 455m, in the south.
Hora is the main town of the island and it is built on the edge of a precipice on the northern coast of the island. The Venetian Castle is at its centre and maintains the cohesion of a close-knit neighbourhood with the houses shaped into its walls. There are small hotels, good tavernas and an exceptional atmosphere for evening amusements.
The best beaches are found on the east coast and at Karavostasis, the harbour of Folegandros. The best of all beaches is Kartego, which can only be accessed on foot or by boat.
